Welcome to our website. Please take the time to browse and find out lots of interesting information about our school and our pupils' impressive learning!

Pupils at Henshaw Church of England First School are between the ages of 4 and 9. We do have a private Nursery on site which offers places for children between the ages of 2 and 4 years old. Our school is situated in the beautiful South Tyne Valley in the West of Northumberland.  We are located near the hamlets of Henshaw and Bardon Mill.  We serve a wide local area on both sides of the river Tyne, to the north of us is Hadrian's Wall and the Roman remains of Vindolanda.  The market town of Haltwhistle is 5 miles to the west and Hexham is 10 miles to the east.  The main A69 road is close by, as well as the Newcastle to Carlisle railway.

At Henshaw CE First School our aims are based upon Christian beliefs. We aim to give our children a happy, safe and secure start to school life. We work hard to create and sustain a warm, welcoming and caring atmosphere within which staff, pupils, their families and visitors to the school feel valued. We strive to ensure that everyone who works in or visits our school enjoys the experience and feels the satisfaction of making a positive contribution.
